Variable Frequency Drives control pump speed, performance, and efficiency by matching pump performance with systems demand based on external measurements from points across the pumping system. VFD control intelligence may be limited providing simple fixed speed control, external processor (PLC) control, or fully integrated software control responding to inputs from multiple transducers and other VFDs.
Yaskawa iQpump Variable Frequency Drives installed by NAVI are unique in that they utilize integrated control software, specific to pumping systems, and require no external PLCs or other control devices. VFDs will constantly regulate pump performance to meet demand for flow and pressure as an alternative to running pumps at constant speed and regulating flow and pressure with throttling valves. Yaskawa drives provide control, energy efficiency, and a broad range of operations measurements, analytics, and diagnostics
